Advantages of a forging press
The advantages of a forging press lie mainly in control, force and repeatability. Where manual forging leaves you with variation from one hammer blow to the next, a hydraulic system delivers the same pressure every time. This lets you work more accurately and leaves you with more usable material.
You can also work thicker and harder metal with considerably less physical effort. A press applies its force to the workpiece gradually and in a controlled way, which is calmer and safer than heavy manual work. Hydraulic forging presses for heavy forging work
Hydraulic forging presses are built for heavy forging work with an open die or flat forks. Our range includes two lines that can handle this work, both fully hydraulic and built for hot forging.
The Nargesa PV21 works with a vertical stroke for precision work on knives, swords and tools. The machine has a stroke of 296 mm, a machined table and guidance via four chrome-plated columns, with both manual and automatic operation. At 22 strokes per minute and a working height of 1,020 mm, you can work comfortably for long stretches, while the press is CE-compliant and ready to use straight out of delivery.
The AN-Y04 is a powerful machine for open-die hot forging. This press runs on a 4 kW motor with a 3x400 V three-phase supply, weighs about 880 kg, and comes with a pair of flat dies so you can get started right away. Without a load, the ram speed is 40 mm down and 60 mm up per second, with a working speed of 7 mm/s under pressure.
Forging presses in various pressing forces
Our forging presses cover a range of pressing forces, from 21 to 50 tonnes. The right choice depends on the thickness of your material and the kind of work you do.
For finer work on knives and small tools, a lighter press such as the 21-tonne PV21 is often plenty. It has a compact 250 x 260 mm table and focuses on precision rather than brute force.
If you work with thicker or larger material, go for the AN-Y04 in 25 or 50 tonnes. This line has a 300 x 200 mm work table and a 300 mm stroke height, more than enough for heavier forging. Choose the 50-tonne version for the heaviest work, where you want to move a lot of material in a single stroke. For clamping heavy work next to your press, pair it with a sturdy bench vice.
