A forge in 230V or 400V?

You choose a forge in 230V or 400V based on the power supply in your workshop. A 230V model plugs into an ordinary socket and is the logical choice for home and hobby use.

If you work in a workshop with three-phase power, a 400V forge is a better fit. If you don't know which connection you have, get in touch before you order, so you bring home the right model straight away.

Coal-fired forge

A coal-fired forge gives you an open fire in which you can properly heat large and irregular workpieces. You fire it with forging coal or coke, which easily gets you to the temperature needed to forge steel.

Choose low-sulphur coal, because sulphur damages your steel. The right forging coal and coke can be ordered directly along with it from our range, so you can get started right away with your new forge.
