Description
A crucible is nothing without the matching tongs, and they need to be the right size. This bundle contains the 0.6-litre A4 ceramic crucible, plus the crucible tongs and pouring tongs in the corresponding size.
The crucible
The 0.6-litre ceramic model is suitable for the gas melting furnace. It heats up quickly, conducts heat evenly and produces little slag. Its resistance to chemical stress is good and it has a pouring spout. Made in Germany.
Use
If your crucible has just arrived or has been left unused for a long time, heat it for two hours at 200 °C. This removes the moisture from the ceramic before you bring it up to temperature. Clean the crucible before and after every use.
The tongs
The A4 crucible tongs have sturdy gripping claws and are made for this crucible size. You use the A4 pouring tongs at the moment of pouring. Never work with tongs that don't match the size of your crucible.
