Description
A sieve separates sand and clay from stones and metal particles. In the casting process, you use it to bring your material to a consistent texture before it goes into the mould.
Why mesh size matters
The mesh size determines how fine the separation is, and therefore what remains behind. Too coarse and unwanted material stays in; too fine and you sieve out exactly what you needed. So measure your desired grain size before choosing a sieve.
