Description
RIDGID's entry-level model weighs 35 kg and has a face measuring 205 by 95 mm with a 135 mm horn. If you're just starting out or working in a small workshop, this is the weight at which you can still position the anvil yourself.
Material and hardness
A cast anvil is cheaper to produce, but it breaks more easily and offers less rebound. This anvil is forged from steel, which makes it considerably stronger and more durable. The top surface is also machined and hardened, so it stays flat even after years of use.
That means you can forge both hard and softer types of steel on it without damaging the face.
Applications
On the flat face you hammer pieces of wrought iron and other metals into shape. With the 135 mm horn you create curves and bends, both for new work and when restoring old items.
This model does not have a hardy hole; the heavier versions do.
Please note
The product image differs slightly from the anvil supplied.
