Description
Where refractory concrete is intended for construction, this chamotte mortar is meant for thin protective layers and precise repairs. It withstands temperatures up to 1,600 °C and adheres well, making it suitable for lining induction coils and for repair work on forge fires and forging furnaces.
Application
Mix the mortar with water at a ratio of approximately 0.25 litres per kilo of material, or 25 litres per 100 kilos. Add the water evenly and mix thoroughly to avoid lumps.
Apply the mortar in thin layers between 1 and 3 mm. Depending on the ambient temperature, it remains workable for 30 to 120 minutes. Do not work in direct sunlight.
Curing and drying
Let the mortar dry slowly before putting it to use. This prevents cracks and makes the layer last longer. After curing, a hard ceramic layer remains that resists heat, slag and molten metal.
Safety
- Avoid inhaling dust and work in a well-ventilated area
- Wear gloves and eye protection
- Store the product in a dry place
