Description
This is the heaviest insulating brick in the ThermAll range, resistant up to 1,650 °C. It is manufactured according to the applicable ASTM standard, is low in carbon and energy-saving, and is suitable for both forge furnaces and melting furnaces.
Please note: you receive five bricks per order.
Applications
Ordinary bricks are not flammable, but they do crack at high temperatures. This brick consists of clay combined with chamotte and is made using a special production process, which means it doesn't crack.
You use it for heat insulation and for no-melt erosion on the working layer. That saves heat and therefore energy, but more importantly: your material doesn't get damaged.
Features
- Ceramic industry: pusher kilns, roller kilns
- Aluminium electrolysis: aluminium reduction cells
- Glass industry: glass furnace regenerators
- Carbon industry: carbon burners
- Other: tunnel kilns, shuttle kilns, industrial and hobby kilns
Properties
- Low thermal conductivity coefficient thanks to the high porosity, which insulates and saves energy
- High purity with little iron, alkaline and other metal impurities
- High compressive strength under thermal load and a stable volume
- High resistance to thermal shock
