Description
The H3 is the largest model in the Nargesa range, with three burners and a combustion chamber measuring 460 x 240 x 100 mm. That lets you bring longer workpieces up to temperature in one go, up to 1,300 °C.
Use and application
You can use it to heat various metals for further processing: casting, bending, punching, welding, tempering or making horseshoes. The lid can be closed, so the heat stays inside the chamber.
Safety
The operator was the focus during the development of this range. The furnace complies with regulation RD919/2006, issued by APPLUS, the General Laboratory for Testing and Research. The product image shows where the components are located.
- Automatic electric ignition: you light the gas without putting your hands into the combustion chamber and without needing a tool to create the spark
- Integrated gas system: the components are tucked away inside the structure, out of the way of impacts that could cause leaks
- Thermocouple safety valve: shuts off the gas supply as soon as the combustion chamber cools down due to a malfunction
- Non-return valve: keeps the gas flowing in one direction, so nothing flows back towards the cylinder
Insulation and emissions
The combustion chamber is lined with compacted vermiculite. This material contains no glass fibres or ceramics, is not harmful to health and is fully recyclable with no waste left over. The interior also has a vermiculite coating.
The APPLUS Technology Centre certified emissions at 0.002% carbon monoxide. By way of comparison: in a normal environment that value lies between 0 and 2.
Fuel consumption
These furnaces use a quarter of the fuel of comparable models, a saving of 75%. On a 35 kg propane cylinder, the H3 runs for about 35 hours with all three burners operating at full capacity. If you work with one burner, that running time triples.
All the propane entering the combustion chamber is burned, with no residual gas. This is thanks to the burners that Nargesa designs and manufactures in-house.
Use
If the furnace is brand new, or has been standing idle for a long time, heat it for two hours at 200 °C. This removes the moisture from the refractory bricks before you start working at temperature.
