Description
Two liters is the largest size in the range, intended for anyone melting a substantial amount of steel or alloy in one go.
The wall is made of 99.7% aluminum oxide and withstands up to 1,700 °C. That is exactly what steel and specialty alloys require, since a graphite crucible with its 1,450 °C won't get there.
Features
- Quickly up to temperature
- Heat spreads evenly through the wall
- Hardly any slag adhesion
- Suitable for steel and for specialty alloys
Use
- Preheating is always part of it, and thoroughly
- Heat up evenly to avoid cracking
- Stay below 1,700 °C
- Filling two-thirds is the maximum, to prevent oxidation and cracking
Please note
The same height, outer diameter and weight are listed for every capacity in this range. That is impossible, so those figures are deliberately left out here. Ask about them when ordering.
Specifications
- Material: 99.7% aluminum oxide (Al2O3)
- Capacity: approximately 2 liters
